This paper synthesises existing research on the link between place, poverty and ethnicity in England; and analyses ways in which location impacts on the relationship between patterns of poverty and ethnic groups in terms of employment, clustering and residential segregation and neighbourhood effects.  It also suggests new areas of research required to further clarify this relationship.
