#Goodbyeto2011: Interview with Ibukun Olashore
#Goodbyeto2011 is a short video project produced by the Race Equality Foundation in collaboration with speakers from a number of voluntary, community and public sector organisations.
Here Ibukun Olashore of OBAC gives her thoughts on race equality for blind Africans and Caribbeans, arguing that although there has been progress in providing better health and social care services in 2011, more needs to be done. Language continues to be a barrier to accessing appropriate services, and Ibukun calls for health and social care services to work more closely with voluntary sector organisations because of their particular expertise in supporting disadvantaged groups.
The Goodbye to 2011 videos were published on the Foundation's Youtube channel throughout the festive season in the run up to New Year 2011-12. Your thoughts and feedback on the videos, and your own hopes for 2012, are much appreciated.
